The Center for Water and Air Quality (CWAQ) has a diverse faculty from the disciplines of Soil Science, Agronomy, Entomology, Forestry, Agricultural Engineering and Agribusiness. The CWAQ is the focal point for faculty research in water and air science, the catalyst for developing collaborative projects, a conduit to recruit undergraduate and graduate students, and to reach out to stakeholders.
It is a clearinghouse where policy and management decision-makers and the public obtain objective, science- based information on water, air and water-air related issues impacting the State of Florida, the Southeast, and the nation. It also serves as the campus liaison with stakeholders and provides public outreach, technology transfer, and information dissemination.
The Center is organized around faculty expertise and research interest in water quality, nutrient management, aquatic ecosystem dynamics wetlands, phytoremediation, forestry, policy, and management.
