FAMU students whom are enrolled in the Spring 2017 semester are eligible to participate. The competition is divided into two categories – Individuals and Teams (groups of 2 or more). This year we are accepting works of visual art (two or three-dimensional), architecture (drawings, models or built structures), music, performance, theatre and literary arts. Mixed media works are welcomed.
Two-dimensional works can be any size and unframed, however it must be ready-to-hang on the wall with our using a nail or two. Three-dimensional works need to stand upright on the floor or be ready-to-hang on the wall with our using a nail or two.
For works of music, performance and theatrical nature, entrants must submit a video of MP4 format and no more than 5 minutes in length. Entries in the incorrect format or of more than 5 minutes in length will be disqualified. For works of a literary nature, a maximum of 5 typed pages (double-spaced with 12-point Arial or Times New Roman font and one-inch margins) will be accepted. The entry must be submitted in a final form suitable for exhibition.
Awards will be presented to students who best convey the theme of Sustainability with Global Connections through their polished artistic expression.
