Indaba Invites Campus Community to Create a Sustainability Plan
- Published in News
Indaba is a traditional South African (Zulu and Xhosa) word for a gathering of community members to sort out the problems that affect them all, where everyone can have a voice and where there is an attempt to find a common ground to choose a path forward.
In that spirit of collective problem solving and progress, FAMU is embarking on a Sustainability Indaba with topical Focus Teams formed to address areas ranging from improving resource stewardship to incorporating sustainability into curriculum. Faculty, staff, and students can join one of 9 Focus Teams to collectively consider sustainability strategies for FAMU. Results will go into a plan to be presented to the campus community at the Sustainability Indaba Summit in spring 2016.
