Operations

The changing landscape and terrestrial scope of higher education necessitates the kind of leadership that balances fiscal responsibility, environmental stewardship and innovation. We have the opportunity to improve efficiencies, generate savings and build resilience in our operations in the face of depleting resources and rising costs. From facilities and plant operations, to procurement and dinning services, campus sustainability spans every aspect of how we work and live.

In 2012, FAMU was recognized for the second consecutive year by the Princeton Review's "Green Colleges" list, the only historically black college and university (HBCU) to make the cut. In 2014, the Building Green Initiative also recognized FAMU as a sustainability leader among HBCU's. Creating a model of a safe, healthy and environmental sustainable campus takes vision and leadership from nearly every facet of campus operations.
